My Time at Sandrock is a game about gathering resources to build structures. As you progress through the story, you’ll have to start upgrading your machines to unlock new crafting recipes. Since you need a wide array of different materials to upgrade each of your machines, it may seem overwhelming at first to do. This guide will provide information on how to upgrade your machines, including your Worktable, in My Time at Sandrock Early Access.
How to Upgrade Your Machines and Worktable in My Time at Sandrock
Upgrading Your Worktable
In My Time at Sandrock, to upgrade your Worktable to an Intermediate Worktable, interact with your table and either press the arrow button at the top of your screen or press the “3” key on your keyboard. The button is also shown in the image above. Doing this will display an upgrade menu, listing any stat changes and unlocked crafting recipes. You’ll also find a list of required materials to complete the upgrade. In the case of upgrading your Worktable, you need the following resources:
- Marble Slab x5 – Obtained by using Marble Brick in a Processor. You smelt Marble Bricks in a furnace using Marble.
- Copper Wire x10 – Obtained by using Copper Bars in a Grinder.
- Old Parts x10Â – Obtained by mining in the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins, recycling Mechanical Scrap or purchasing from the Eufaula Salvage shop.
- Hardwood Stick x5 – Obtained by recycling Fine Wood Scraps or processing Hard Wood in a Processor.
- Machine Upgrade Kit x3 – Purchased from Hammer Time, the shop east of the Blue Moon Saloon.
After getting each of these resources, head back to your Worktable to the upgrade menu. Click “Upgrade” to create the Intermediate Worktable instantly.
Upgrading Your Machines
The method of upgrading your other machines in My Time at Sandrock is similar to the Worktable. However, before upgrading your machines, you first need to acquire the proper research blueprints. You’ll have to use your Data Discs to purchase each building blueprint from Qi in the Research Center. Most of the blueprints, such as the Civil Grinder and Processor, will take around four days to complete and cost between 12-16 Data Discs.
Once you get the upgrade blueprints, head to the upgrade menu of your chosen machine and follow the same process as the Worktable. While the required materials vary depending on the machine, most require at least one Machine Upgrade Kit.
