Microsoft announced today the lineup of games set to round-off Xbox Game Pass’ summer offering, including none other than a remake of seminal 90s puzzler Myst, and the quietly intriguing time-loop interactive thriller, Twelve Minutes.
Starting August 19th, Recompile, Train Sim World 2, and Twelve Minutes land on Xbox Game Pass PC, console, and cloud.
Recompile casts you as a partial-sapient program fighting for their lives in an adventure propped up aspects playing into the Metroidvania tradition. Train Sim World 2 is, well, a train simulator, as the title succinctly describes. Man all manner of locomotives across famed railways from throughout the world. The game’s bagged official licenses for that extra bit of realism.
Twelve Minutes is among the more exciting additions to Xbox Game Pass. The game is a time-loop narrative-heavy thriller where knowledge from previous loops will prove invaluable, brought to life via the acting chops of James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe.
Psychonauts 2 and Myst Heading to Xbox Game Pass
On August 25th, Double Fine’s Psychonauts 2 launches day one on Game Pass for PC, console, and cloud. Zany and full of heart, Psychonauts 2 has you navigate a platforming adventure, fighting with a range of psychic powers. Also on the same day, there’s the Myst Game Pass debut for PC, cloud, and console, alongside the game’s launch on PC, Mac, and VR. Myst is a re-imagined version of the original and drops you on a deceptively gorgeous island as you unravel a story of gritty family betrayal.
Finally, it’s worth remembering that a slew of games hit the Game Pass today, too. These are the turn-based strategy of Humankind, neon-soaked Miami-inspired racer Need For Speed Heat, the saber-swinging Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II.
Xbox Game Pass continues to offer the best and most value-packed gaming subscription out there. As a recent convert, I can’t sing the services’ praises enough. The first month for $1 offer still stands, so there’s no excuse not to give it a whirl.
