Naruto’s Nana Mizuki: One of Many Voice Actors Struck by COVID-19
Nana Mizuki is not the first (or the last) voice actor to be diagnosed with COVID-19. Most recently, “Angela” vocalist Atsuko had been suspected of testing positive for the virus but was not disclosed. Vocalist and voice-actress Nanami Yamashita (Osomatsu-san, Kakegurui) has also tested positive in the last couple of weeks.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a large impact on the animation and acting community as a whole. Many anime delays have happened since the start due to attempts to stop the spread of the virus. This pandemic has also affected live-action movies and shows as more people enforce safety measures and precautions.
At the time of this writing, there is no word on Nana Mizuki’s future participation in any shows or events. It is also unknown if her diagnosis has any effect on upcoming anime series. She is, however, expected to make a full recovery.
