Back in March, it was confirmed that Warner Bros. is still creating a Booster Gold movie. While we haven’t heard much in the meantime regarding the film, rumors still sore regarding who could possibly play the role.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Screen Rant spoke with actor Nathan Fillion regarding his recent Uncharted fan film. In the middle of that interview, the topic of playing Booster Gold was brought up.
“He’s a great character. Am I vying for the role? And do I want an internet thing to go crazy? No, I don’t want that to happen. Do I think it’s a great role? Yes. Would I do an amazing job… I like to think that I would… I like to think that I would. I like to think I would. He’s a great character. He’s such a dufus. I could do that.”
Booster Gold is easily one of the most underrated characters in the DC Universe. Alongside an interesting name, his character has a uniquely sarcastic charm, wit, and backstory. All of that sounds like just what the struggling DCEU needs at the moment as well, especially considering the positive reactions t the lighter tone showed off in the debut Shazam! trailer. Â
Fillion sounds perfect for the role, especially considering his work on Firefly and Castle.
Last we heard, Thor’s Zack Stentz is currently penning the script for the Booster Gold film. The man behind DC and CW’s Arrowverse, Greg Berlanti, is set to produce and possibly even direct the title.
