Batman is a part of pop culture today, giving people a chance to embrace and learn to balance the good and the evil inside of them. Everyone has a dark side, though some might hide it better than others. We grow up reading and watching the Dark hero face his faults, embrace them and do good. Being a hero isn’t always winning or defeating the bad guy, sometimes it’s as simple as a sharing a meal with someone or in Bruce Wayne’s case building a rec center in a bad neighborhood. Now not all of us can be a billionaire playboy like Bruce or a Dark knight tech savvy martial arts specialist like Batman.
But we can all do the right thing. That is what Batman and many of the characters in his stories show us. No matter how dark, no matter how hard, or what you’ve lost, you will rise again. The question is do you grow for the greater good, or for yourself.
Batman Day gives us not just the ability to get cool prizes and discounts to keep reading him. Batman Day is a chance to celebrate the truths within ourselves. You don’t have to express what they are, only join the festivities on the Dark Knights special Day. We celebrate, and it will be a grand day indeed as this is going to be his 80th Anniversary.
The Detective Comics #27 is still unknown story-wise. However, fans expect it to be excited and surprised. The new issue will be celebrating the series 1000 issue! Tomasi and Manhke are sure to give fans a satisfying treat. More details as we hear them, of course.
Batman Day is September 15, 2018, and Detective Comics #27 will hit in 2019.
