NBA 2K20 has released a 20 GB update, with not much content. As of the time writing this, the official patch notes haven’t been released. The game has seen its fair share of controversy and criticism since its release, and the patch doesn’t add anything to significantly improve the game.
The 1.05 update is out and it doesn’t give NBA 2K20 players much. The major known changes from the patch so far are, that successful coach challenges won’t use a timeout. Baseline dunks are fixed. The adjustment of the Pro Stick window for hop step gathers. The Steve Nash sig dribble style yo-yo ball bug was fixed. The speed gap was widened. Therefore, the speed of the low-rated bigs was reduced. Other than that, no major changes have been noted.
#Fix2K20
NBA 2K20 has been in the news since its launch with #fix2K20 trending number one worldwide days after its release. The game was able to address some issues that players brought up with a patch released on, September 13, 2019. The 1.03 update was 23 GB on PlayStation 4 and 38 GB on Xbox One. One of the issues addressed in the first patch was MyCareer glitches, such as the badge progress bars appearing blank. Another issue that was fixed was a glitch that made MyPlayer names disappear. A lot of gameplay improvements were also made, making the game run smoother. One of the bigger issues that weren’t addressed, was with the game randomly crashing at times. Only time will tell if the latest patch has fixed the crashes.
The first patch was up to 38 GB, the second patch is 20 GB. The game itself takes up almost 50 GB. Therefore, NBA 2K20 is eating up almost 100 GBs of a console’s memory trying to fix issues that should’ve been dealt with before the game’s release. The first update was necessary because all of the bugs and glitches made the game a chore to play through. However, the second update doesn’t fix nearly as much and is almost the same size as the first.
In conclusion, NBA 2K20 is further damaging its once prestigious franchise with these huge updates that aren’t adding much.
