NBA 2K is easily one of 2K Games’ longest-standing franchises, and easily one of the highest-grossing ones. Among so many NBA titles and endless spinoffs, there’s been no shortage of content for fans of basketball games. NBA 2K21 has been out on current-gen consoles for over a month, but it’s nearly time for it to shoot onto next-gen. NBA 2K21 releases next month for Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5, but that isn’t stopping 2K from giving you a sneak peek of what to expect. The team released an NBA 2K21 gameplay trailer today, giving an exciting look at the next-gen gameplay you can expect. You can find that trailer below.
An Astounding Level of Visual Quality for NBA 2K21
The above trailer showcases some of the high-definition quality of NBA 2K21 on next-gen, fully utilizing the new hardware. It focuses on a game between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks, all shown with incredible detail and accuracy. Everything from the hardwood floors to the details on each player’s face is brought to life using AI systems. That, along with the new Rail Cam, give a level of immersion that promises to surprise fans and make it well worth a purchase. Putting an astounding 202 song soundtrack on top of it all makes NBA 2K21 on next-gen the best experience in the series yet.
Greg Thomas, president of development studio Visual Concepts, had the following to say:
Never before have we been able to deliver this level of visual fidelity and realism in a video game. NBA 2K21 is the standout title that best delivers the promise of next-gen: truly revolutionary graphics, lightning-fast load times, and incredible new features and gameplay only possible on next-generation hardware.”
