The second season of the fan-acclaimed series Lost in Space is coming on Netflix on Christmas Eve, and Legendary Entertainment has just announced a new line-up of licensing and merchandising partnerships offering fans exclusive items inspired by the show.
Available for pre-orders on the Legendary Entertainment website, the tech line-up will feature a portable selfie drone, an advanced charging station, wireless headphones, and waterproof speakers.
Some of the new merchandise is also available on Amazon, and it includes the Lost in Space soundtrack on vinyl, graphic novels featuring new adventures of the full crew, various items of clothing, and fan art.
For more traditional fans, Legendary Entertainment has partnered with Well Played Toys, who will launch a full line of action figures in multiple scales inspired by the Lost in Space reboot, as well as with Synthesis Entertainment to bring back retro collectibles from the original 1960s television series.
Digital collectibles will also be available via a partnership with Terra Virtua, a company using mixed reality to engage players in playing, viewing, and trading digital items.
Through the app, it will be possible for fans to interact with limited-edition 3D virtual collectibles from the TV show, including the Robinson family, Don West, Dr. Smith, and the Robot. Terra Virtua secures every transaction using blockchain technology, so fans will be able to assess the rarity of every collectible.
Do you prefer books? Worry not. Little, Brown Books for Young Readers just revealed Lost in Space: Return to Yesterday, an original novel by Kevin Emerson.
The story, which has been announced as the first of a new series, will follow Will and his Robot as they discover a strange portal allowing them to travel back to Earth to a time before the events of the first season.
The novel will also be available in audiobook format and will be narrated by Maxwell Jenkins, the actor portraying Will Robinson in the Netflix reboot.
Last but not least, science fiction, fantasy, and comic book trading cards producer Rittenhouse Archives have just revealed a unique series of trading cards and collectors’ albums based on the Lost in Space reboot. The trading cards and albums are already available here.
Lost in Space season two will be available on Netflix on December 24. It is produced by Legendary Television and features, among others, Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio, and Parker Posey.
