Today Netflix premiered a new trailer for their new epic series Vikings: Valhalla, and boy was it heavy on the epic. Vikings: Valhalla is an action drama series from the same producers who gave us the History Channel’s original series Vikings, which wrapped up its 6th season in December 2020. Now, after a nearly two-year hiatus, the producers of Vikings are back with an all-new exciting tale of war, triumph, and survival.
The Vikings: Valhalla trailer that premiered today shows an allegiance forming amongst the surviving Vikings as they gather forces to overthrow kingdoms in Europe. We’re also seeing a struggle for the Vikings to adapt to the rapid developments of the 11th century. Deadline reports, “These men and women will blaze a path as they fight for survival in the ever-changing and evolving world.” The Vikings: Valhalla trailer gives us the sensuality, gore, and grittiness that we’ve come to love in shows like Peaky Blinders, The Last Kingdom, and Game Of Thrones.
Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla Trailer Shows A Heroic Story Of War And Triumph
IMDB reports that Vikings: Valhalla will take place 100 years after the original series, so you can expect to see an all-new cast in Valhalla. Vikings: Valhalla stars Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Infinite), Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead), David Oakes (Victoria), and Leo Suter (Victoria). Although fans are saddened that they won’t get to see Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok, Vikings: Valhalla will give us an all-new heroic tale to look forward to.
According to Deadline, Vikings: Valhalla will depict the legendary voyages of some of the most famous Vikings in history, including Leif Erikson (played by Sam Corlett of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Freydís Eiríksdóttir (played by Frida Gustavsson of The Witcher). If the name Valhalla is any indication of the show’s story (Valhalla is an enchanting place in Norse mythology), it’s safe to say Valhalla will be a heroic story of war and triumph.
The Vikings: Valhalla series will premiere on Netflix on February 25, 2022. In the meantime, you can stream seasons 1 – 6 of Vikings now on Amazon Prime.
