Today, Netflix dropped a new trailer for their upcoming time-traveling adventure, The Adam Project, and boy; it looks epic! The Adam Project is a sci-fi action-adventure about space traveling pilot Adam Reed, who teams up with a younger version of himself in order to save the future. This is the first time we’re seeing footage of the film except for a few stills from Netflix’s 2022 movie promo, which included previews of upcoming originals The Mother, Day Shift, Slumberland, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Kenya Barris’ comedy You People.
Ryan Reynolds stars as our space traveling protagonist Adam and Hollywood newcomer Walker Scobell will play his younger self. Reynolds says it’s one of the best experiences he’s had onset:
“To say I had the time of my life making this film would be an understatement. And a misleading reference to Dirty Dancing. #TheAdamProject on @netflix March 11.”
The Adam Project teaser is full of A-list stars, all of whom should be recognized by fans of Marvel comic-related films: Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Garner, who share the screen for the 1st time since 2004’s rom-com 13 going on 30. The heart-pounding action-packed teaser features high-flying action sequences, stunning cosmic aesthetics, and the wise-cracking one-liners we’ve come to love from Reynolds in films like Deadpool.
Today’s teaser even gave us a snippet of a kick-ass action scene with Reynolds and the lovely Zoe Saldana, who blessed fans with behind-the-scenes footage of her Netflix press tour moments before the release of the trailer.
Between epic trailers for films like The Adam Project and this year’s Academy Award nominees, it’s clear that Netflix is now an industry leader in filmmaking. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store. The Adam Project is directed by Shawn Levy. It is produced by 21 Laps Entertainment, the same production team who bought us Netflix originals Stranger Things, Shadow and Bone, and 2021’s comedy Free Guy, also starring Reynolds. The Adam Project stars Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener, and Walker Scobell in his first-ever starring role in a feature film. You can catch this exciting sci-fi adventure on Netflix on March 11, 2022.
