You may have heard of Gris, a beautiful indie platformer, in which we play as Gris through the recent loss of his mother. If you are familiar with the studio behind the game, you know it has a very particular style. Fantasy worlds and using color to tell stories are staples in Nomada Game’s titles. Today, during the PlayStation Showcase 2023, this developer launched the reveal trailer of their next game called Neva, and it is as beautiful as any of their other games.
Neva Reveal Trailer Shows Another Emotional Storyline
With Neva’s reveal trailer, we can see the studio is bringing back its handling of emotions in its stories. In the case of Gris, we had to help the protagonist face the 5 stages of grief after her mother’s passing, with whom she was very close.
In Neva, we will help a girl named Alba defend a magical valley of nasty creatures. These monsters seem to bring death and decay to everything they touch. However, Alba will be accompanied by a curious wolf cub, who will grow as the story progresses. This is great, as it’ll add more stakes to the game. The Neva reveal trailer does not show what kind of gameplay we will have. But hopefully, it will also be a platformer where we will face cursed enemies with our sword and faithful furry companion.

There is still much more information missing from Nomada since we only have Neva’s reveal trailer and its release planned for 2024. We only can assume that there will be much more time to know more about the story or Alba’s abilities. Fortunately, there was news about games with a closer release date in the same PlayStation Showcase, such as Final Fantasy XVI and Spider-Man 2.
