MMOs are always adding new events, dungeons, and mechanics to keep their player base entertained and coming back for more. Neverwinter is certainly no exception to the concept with the development team announcing its October event Harvester of Nightmares. The event will have adventurers hunting down the harvester by entering a new dimension known as the Nightmare Realm. It’s a pocket plane that bleeds over into Barovia and the Shadowfell so it’s going to be full of terrifying monsters and creatures. Players will work with the Vistani to track down the harvester before it feeds off the nightmares of sleeping individuals.

A blog post on the Neverwinter event had the following to say:
A creature of fey origin, the Harvester dwells in the Nightmare Realm but only attacks if provoked. To draw the monster out, adventurers must enter its realm to cleanse the nightmares plaguing the dreams of sleeping Neverwintans. Doing so starves the Harvester until it has no choice but to attack the intruding adventurers.”
Players must be level 80 and have an item level of 18,000 to start the event. One of the coolest features of the Harvester of Nightmares is it will change Protector’s Enclave, the main starting area in Neverwinter. Familiar places will be converted to shadow as the harvester searches for victims and areas once considered safe will be transformed as well.
The Neverwinter event will feature arena-style encounters where players fight a nightmare version of an existing boss in the world. It will also include its own currency and rewards that can be used to buy upgrades, mounts like the golden warhorse, and more useful items.
Harvester of Nightmare begins Thursday, October 1 at 10 AM PT on PC. However, it will be available for consoles later on. It will run up until October 22. As well, check out Neverwinter’s latest update which sends players to Avernus to face Zariel and her devil army.
