While PC players for Neverwinter have already gotten an earlier access to this content, for console players this is a big update! This new patch includes a full campaign, a trial, and multiple class, gear, and guild updates.
The biggest addition, by far, is the Path of the Fallen campaign. Based out of the first layer of the Nine Hells, this is related to the Descent into Avernus campaign. Completing the campaign gives you more Boon points as well as access to a new trial called Zariel’s Challenge. The fallen angel Zariel, ruler of Avernus, is ready to fight! These challenges are for players with item levels of 22,000 and higher.
Some other updates for the consoles include more balance to the Hellbringer Warlock and Dreadnought Fighter. There are also considerable adjustments made to healing-based classes to offer more strategic choices during combat. For healing-based Clerics, this includes the ability to target a specific ally and boost incoming healing for them. It also reduces reliance on Channel Divinity and makes Angel of Life more frequently available.
Updates have also been made to item level scaling based on going to locations that reduce your power. Now player hit points, ratings, and damage will also be scaled appropriately, aside from just item level. The Trade Bar store has a larger variety of items now available, optimizing use of this hard to get currency.
Some other minor updates include a longer process for Guilds to change leaders, the King of Spines in Chult had its hit point issue fixed, and various issues with quests and campaigns have been corrected. There are also updates to Artifacts, with improved damage resistance for the Forgehammer of Gond, the healing and power effect for Sigil of the Paladin is stronger, and the Sigil of the Fighter has been updated overall. Cooldowns for Artifacts have been standardized for rank. There are also a handful of other, more minor, corrections, adjustments, and updates.
