A group of Dungeons and Dragons adventurers will soon set off on a quest in support of the Autism Society of America and they’re not alone. The MMORPG Neverwinter is joining with Lost Odyssey to help raise funds for the organization when the charity event begins November 15, 2019.
Lost Odyssey: The Book of Knowledge is a live Dungeons and Dragons show featuring a party of six cast members led by dungeon master and wielder of the happy fun ball, Deborah Ann Woll. While she is famous for her role in Daredevil as Karen Page, she also starred in True Blood, started her own D&D show Relics and Rarities on Geek and Sundry, and played the lovable Twiggy on Critical Role.
One of the sponsors for the event is the online Dungeons and Dragons game Neverwinter. They are giving away a free and exclusive “Pack of the Traveling Merchant” for everyone who buys a ticket to the live show. The pack will include special unique items for players and will only be available for players on the PC.
Lost Odyssey released a short video promoting the event. It features storytellers and dungeon masters explaining that Dungeons and Dragons is more than just a game but a way to interact and tell stories with family and friends.
“Stories in general are how we understand ourselves” Says Critical Role’s Liam O’Brien. They always have been.”
Emi Tanji, who works at Wizards of the Coast as an art director, says telling tales is a way to share culture and ideas.
“Storytelling is not just a way to express how you’re feeling or your hopes and your dreams and your ideals. Storytelling itself is history.”
The six players joining Woll on stage are Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo), Satine Phoenix (Gilding Light), TJ Storm (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Kate Welch (Acquisitions Incorporated), Xander Jeanneret (Relics & Rarities), and a secret surprise guest.
Lost Odyssey: The Book of Knowledge will be live-streamed on Twitch and Tiltify November 15, 2019, at 7:30 PM.
