A new Crash Bandicoot could be on the way, just not in the way you might expect. Promos have leaked of a new Crash Bandicoot game for mobile devices.
The promo art was posted to Twitter, which shows a series of images as well as the logo art. This new Crash Bandicoot game looks to be coming from King, the creatures of popular mobile game Candy Crush Saga.

King developing this new Crash makes sense given that publisher Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and acquired King in 2016. King has mostly developed games that fall under the Saga series; this game would be them working with an established property and different game genre.
Two of the images show what could be the gameplay of this new Crash. One shows a behind the back view of Crash running down a pathway, while the other has an over-world display.
From the image, the gameplay most corresponds to the mobile runner genre, which has been extremely popular over the years. The image says that you will run, jump, and slide to make it through the different levels.
Crash Bandicoot Updated for Mobile Devices
The other image, which shows an over-world display, also highlights that you will be building a base of some sort. Given that the game is sure to have microtransactions, you will probably be able to pay extra for extra-base components.
Crash Bandicoot has had a significant resurgence over the past few years, with a remaster of the three original games as well as a remaster of Crash Team Racing. This falls in line with Activision’s plans to bring more remasters in 2020, so there might be more Crash related games on the way.

While the original tweet regarding the leaked images is still up, the link attached does not work anymore. There is no information on when this Crash mobile game will release, but given the quality of the promo art, it could be soon.
