They said he was dead, but the newest commercial for Halo 5: Guardians shows us that Master Chief is alive and well. Watch the commercial below:

“The only thing worse than losing a hero, is watching him turn against us.”
Trailers for the upcoming Halo game by 343 Industries offer gamers a glimpse into Master Chief’s alleged betrayal, and the spartan hero’s battle with Spartan Locke (who made his debut in the live-action series “Halo: Nightfall”) from Fireteam Osiris. In this ad, Master Chief is on the run. Locke and the rest of Fireteam Osiris are hot on Chief’s trail. There’s no explanation as to Master Chief’s decision to go rogue, but fans won’t have to wait long. Halo 5: Guardians will be released on October 27 exclusively for the Xbox One.
The commercial will make its debut on Sunday during Fear the Walking Dead at 9 PM EDT.
Last week, a trailer for Halo 5: Guardians teased the Chief’s untimely demise. That was the “official story.”
In case players want to learn more about the backstory, they can check out the “Hunt the Truth” podcast series, which is now available on SoundCloud. Additional information can be found on the “Hunt the Truth” Tumblr page. The “Hunt the Truth” marketing campaign was launched on March 22, 2015.
Recently, Microsoft confirmed that Halo 6 is in the works.
