Netflix has just premiered the official trailer for the upcoming action thriller KATE. Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the titular heroine, the film will be coming to the streaming service on September 10. You can watch the trailer for KATE now below.
Blood in Tokyo: Watch Out for Mary Elizabeth Winstead in KATE
The official KATE trailer is filled with snippets of action sequences and confrontations. We mostly see Kate herself going up against waves of foes with intensity being dialed up to the high level. There are the expected well-choreographed fight scenes that we get to see, but Kate’s struggle with staying alive as well. Before she can finish a hit job, she stumbles and becomes weak due to horrid poisoning. Helping her out in the movie is Woody Harrelson’s character, who appears throughout the trailer.
From producer David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) comes a new cold-blooded heroine looking for vengeance. With a script by Umair Aleem, KATE follows a merciless criminal operative who has been subsequently poisoned by an unknown source. With only less than 24 hours before she ultimately collapses, it’s vengeance that she’ll seek on her final day. The film will also star Michiel Huisman, Tadanobu Asano, Jun Kunimura, and Miyavi.

KATE marks the second directorial outing for Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. Before becoming a director, he was originally known for acting as a Visual Effects Artist and Supervisor for a few movies. These would include Dead Man’s Chest, Snow White, and the Huntsman, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. He then made his debut with the film’s sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War in 2016.
