Kirby and the Forgotten Land was first revealed at last year’s September Nintendo Direct as the next installment in the Kirby franchise. Following a leak that surfaced just a few hours before the direct listing of the game on the Nintendo Japan release site, the Kirby and the Forgotten Land was confirmed to be in development with a release date set sometime in spring 2022, and now that time has been specified. The last official Kirby game before this was Kirby Star Allies in 2018, and this will serve as the first fully 3D installment in the franchise with a similar style and presentation to games like Super Mario Odyssey.
The new Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailer goes into even further detail about the pink hero’s latest adventure.
“Join Kirby in an unforgettable journey on a delightful 3D platforming adventure! Explore in 3D stages as you discover a mysterious world. Inhale enemies to gain copy abilities like the new Drill and Ranger. Use these skills to save the kidnapped Waddle Dees from the Beast Pack. You can also bring along a second player to control Bandana Waddle Dee and take on the forgotten world together!”, a press release from Nintendo reads.
Players will also be able to play together in co-op mode as other Waddle Dees join Kirby on his venture across the island.
