PS Plus is available in Asia as of May 24th. With the debut of the new PlayStation Plus in Asia, the renewed model of the Sony subscription service finally passes into the hands of gamers. The Japanese gaming giant has also released a complete list of PS Plus games.
Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service has been renewed to rival Xbox Game Pass. The new subscription model, which includes 3 levels, PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, and PS Plus Deluxe, offers access to thousands of games. The list of games available with PlayStation Plus includes a mix of PS4 and PS5 games, as well as the “Classics Catalog” from previous PlayStation generations.
PS Plus for Asia Officially Launched
With a diversified offer, the new PlayStation Plus offers three different subscriptions, which definitively merge the previous PS Plus and PS Now services. PlayStation website, when set to regions in Asia, is showing a list of PlayStation Plus games available at launch.
It was first noticed that PlayStation Plus has 300 games total for the two subscription tiers. This is well below the 740 games previously promised by Sony. Although some games are counted as separate productions for both PS5 and PS4, it falls short of what Sony says.
On the other hand, Sony promises that more games will be added soon, especially in the “Classics Catalog.” The description of the Japanese giant about the number of games is as follows:
“These games are now available to play as part of the PS Plus Asia launch. More titles will be added soon, along with the lists of catalogue games available in each country/region as PS Plus rolls out.”
When Will PS Plus Be Available in the US?
The list of classic games that come with PS Plus Deluxe, although not yet categorized, extends to remastered ones. For example, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is available as part of PS Plus Extra. But BioShock Remastered is a “classic game” part of PS Plus Deluxe.
The new PlayStation Plus is scheduled to be available very soon, first in Japan and then in US and Europe by June. So we can expect to see a list with more games for these regions. Here’s the full list of games that have been revealed for the Asian players.
