Krafton, Inc. announced today that it would be hosting its first official NEW STATE MOBILE eSports event in Korea for 2022. The open challenge competition will happen between February 5th – 19th, with a prize pool of more than $250,000.
Throughout the open challenge competition, players will exclusively be playing the PUBG: New State, BR Extreme mode, which launched globally last week on mobile devices as a significant update to the game.
NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge, first of 2022
While this will be the first official eSports event hosted by Krafton, Inc, the organization plans to hold more events into 2022 globally. Currently, there are some requirements for players to participate in the NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge.
For this challenge, only Korea-based players have earned Gold Tier or higher during Season 1. The season began earlier this month. Players still have until February 2nd to apply. Qualified players who are at least 15 years old will participate in the eSports event, which will be held online and offline.
The NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge competition schedule is as follows:
February 5th – 13th: Online Open Qualifiers
February 15th – 18th: Group Stage (offline at IVEX Studio in Gwang-Myeong, South Korea)
February 19th: Grand Finals (offline at IVEX Studio in Gwang-Myeong, South Korea)
The BR: Extreme Mode is the exclusive game mode for the Open Challenge Event. This new game mode consists of 64 players instead of the normal 100. There is also a round limit of 20 minutes, and the current map for the event is the Troi map.
Each match will feature eight teams of four, with the Open Challenge leveraging standard and Universal PUBG Esports Ruleset components. Final standings will measure both match “rank points” and “kill points.”
