In a new clip at the 2022 Game Awards, we finally got to see more of the Super Mario Bros. movie after only having two trailers which many fans feel we didn’t get to see enough. Chris Pratt is doing an excellent job at voicing our beloved Mario…yes it is different from what we are used to, but it is still a good job for what it is. Honestly, to me, it doesn’t sound like Chris Pratt at all, while many fans have voiced they think it sounds just like him. Some fans are disappointed to see that Pratt hasn’t taken on the Mario accent for this movie but feel free to take a look at the clip they shared during the Game Awards at this link.
Super Mario Bros. Movie
In the scene we see in the clip shared tonight, for Super Mario Bros. releasing in April 2023, we saw both Toad and Mario wandering through the Mushroom Kingdom, and Toad was clearing the path by screaming about how Mario’s brother is going to die at Bowser’s hands. Both these beloved characters travel by leaping from one place to another through the village-like area, even going through a pipe that Mario didn’t seem used to. Then the two finally making it to Princess Peach’s castle…and that’s when the clip ends…which is sad but also exciting. Chris Pratt did end up doing a little bit of an Italian accent, but not a whole not, but I truly believe Pratt will do an outstanding job as Mario.
The Super Mario Bros. movie is set to release in April 2023, but we don’t know exactly what day yet. There are also many rumors going around, like how Princess Peach will be changing in this movie not to be so much of the Princess that needs saving but the Princess that does the saving…and in this case, she’ll be saving Mario’s brother.
