What to Expect From the New Super Mario Bros Movie Trailer
The first trailer for the Super Mario Bros Movie by Nintendo and Illumination was released as a short teaser on October 6, 2022. The trailer was given its own direct-style presentation, with commentary from the producers and stars of the film.
Now, it has been confirmed via Nintendo of America that a new, full trailer will debut in a Super Mario Bros Movie direct before the end of November, ahead of the 2022 Game Awards. It was originally thought that a new trailer would be released during The Game Awards due to a previous report on the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) rating the trailer itself, which apparently clocks in at 1:30.
However, there has been no official confirmation of this and it is unknown at this time if there will be another trailer shown during the presentation.
Another piece of information that was potentially leaked was the Super Mario Bros Movie’s runtime, which is apparently 85 minutes, or 1 hour and 25 minutes, making the shortest film in Illimunaiton’s catalog. Their shortest film before this was 2019’s The Secret Life of Pets 2, which is only 86 minutes in length.
However, around an hour and 3o minutes is a rather standard length for most movies, so in the grand scheme of things, it is not incredibly short.
The Super Mario Bros Movie will release on April 7, 2023, nearly 30 years after the original film’s release back in 1993. It will be directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri, with Chris Pratt set to provide the voice for Mario.
