The promotional campaign for The Last of Us Part 1 continues, as Naughty Dog showed off new The Last of Us Part 1 gameplay earlier today. Not many games have succeeded enough to warrant a single remake, even decades after release. The Last of Us holds a remarkable record of receiving both a remaster and a remake. This becomes even more baffling when players consider the fact that the original game is barely even nine years old. And yet, as Joel would probably attest himself, Naughty Dog’s output is often well above par.
Returning to Bill’s Town in New The Last of Us Part 1 Gameplay Preview
The new The Last Of Us Part 1 gameplay preview shows off the new remade Bill’s Town section, where Joel and Ellie attempt to seek help from Joel’s friend Bill. Showing off this section works for several reasons. It gives players a decent look at the reworked stealth mechanics as the characters sneak past various zombies. Additionally, it also gives players a more extensive look at the new dynamic lighting. The split mix of scripted stealth and tense action sequences likewise demonstrates the variety new players can expect. The technical performance appears to hold steady throughout the preview. However, many players learned with Cyberpunk 2077 that one should never trust promotional videos entirely.
Release date Ambiguity Continues To Surround PC Port
While the game’s PlayStation 5 debut has already been set in stone, the confirmed PC port remains in murky waters. Fans have yet to see a The Last Of Us remake trailer specifically for the PC port. At this point, it seems unlikely that fans can, this year, expect a The Last Of Us remake trailer, specifically showing off potentially new features exclusive to PC. Sony will likely want to push off the said re-release into the first half of 2023. As of yet, no official PC release date or release window has been explicitly named.
The Last of Us Part 1 releases on PS5 in three days, on September 2nd, 2022.
