Crunchyroll also announced that it would stream the anime upon release “in more than 200 countries around the world”. Crunchyroll will host a panel at Anime Expo on July 2nd to announce more information about Trigun Stampede. Guests for the panel will include Nightow himself, character artists, Orange producers, and TOHO producers.
“Trigun Stampede”: A Reboot to a Classic Series
The original story is based on a manga written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. It was first serialized in Monthly Shonen Captain in April 1995. Madhouses’ anime adaptation aired for 26 episodes in 1998. Now, many consider the story for its great animation, story, and characters. Geneon Entertainment launched the anime in North America in 2000 with the full series on DVD.
The story follows the misadventures of Vash the Stampede, a gunman on the run with a “60 billion double dollar” bounty on his head. Vash earns his nickname due to the destruction that other bounty hunters cause trying to catch him. Vash is still being pursued by those wanting to claim the county for themselves (and insurance agents trying to make him pay for property damages) around the planet named No Man’s Land. Then, the Trigun: Badlands Rumble film aired in April 2010, being the first title in the franchise in over a decade.
As of now, there is no release date for Trigun Stampede. However, a release timeline is expected to be released during the Anime Expo panel. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the original anime.
