Players of New World MMORPG must have stumbled upon branches of Briar. It is a relatively common gatherable resource in the game and you don’t even need a gathering skill to gather items from it. Gathering Briar branches mainly yield two common crafting components: Briar Buds and Thorny Vines. But you can get Firefly Bait from it as well. However, if you’re currently undertaking “A Prickly Request” quest in New World, you need to find a similarly named item called Briar Branches.
For those of you who might be having difficulties finding these Briar Branches though, this guide will show you where they can be easily found in the New World of Aeternum.
How to Get Briar Branches
After receiving the “A Prickly Request” quest from Barkeep Cormack in Windsward, he will ask for three different ingredients for a stew. One of them is 8x Briar Branches. As you can expect, you can only get them from Briars. Once the quest is active, every time you gather a Briar, you will get 2x Briar Branches. Because you must collect a total of eight Briar Branches for the New World “A Prickly Request” quest, you will need to harvest 4x Briars.
You can actually find these bushes near the waters. But where are the best farming spots to get Briar Branches really fast? Well simply continue reading below to find the best Briar Branches farming location.

How to Farm Briar Branches
To easily farm Briar Branches you need to follow the level 15 Main Quest plot where you meet Yonas the Hermit in Fisherman’s Bend, located in Fisherman’s Bend area between Windsward and Monarch’s Bluffs regions borders. Aside from receiving access to one Spirit Shrine or also known as a Fast Travel Shrine (and unlocking fast travel ability), this particular Fast Travel Shrine called Hermit’s Shrine is also situated near Briar Branches. Before you start farming though, don’t forget to hold E in front of the Shrine to unlock it as a fast travel location. You can then travel to that place or any other fast travel spot without needing to complete any quests.
Once you’re there, just walk along the riverside. Usually, a bunch of Briar bushes will spawn around there and in the neighboring meadows. Run a circle around Fisherman’s Bend and you should be able to get all eight Briar Branches in no time. If for some reason you can’t find any, try going to the fork in the river at Stoutmarch. Bring the branches along with skinned rabbits and plucked turkeys back to Barkeep Cormack to complete the “A Prickly Request” quest.
New World is now available on Windows PC via Steam.
