Weakness of the Ego is a level 18 quest in New World. Adiana Theron tasks you with acquiring materials to create a Corruption Tincture to defend yourself against Corruption Affliction in the following quest. By the end of this guide, you will learn how to complete the Weakness of the Ego quest in New World.
Weakness of the Ego Quest in New World
To complete the quest, you need to gather the following resources:
Water is the easiest to find. You can gather it from any body of fresh water including streams, rivers, lakes, and wells. This means that if you try to go to swampy areas, you will find saltwater instead which you cannot gather.
Petalcap is harvested from Fronded Petalcap plants. Fronded Petalcap plants surround the town of Windsward. They are also found northeast of Cutlass Keys and south of Everfall. You only need a harvesting level of 1 to gather it. You will also need a flint sickle or better to harvest it. Other players may be around farming the petalcap plants, so you may need to travel around the area a bit or wait until they respawn.
Rivercress Stems are harvested from Rivercress plants. These plants are mainly located around Everfall and Windsward. You can also travel up to Weaver’s Fen and Brightwood. Rivercress is found alongside bodies of water in these regions. Along with requiring a flint sickle or better to harvest it, you also need a harvesting level of at least 30. Similar to Petalcap, you may need to venture to a different region if there are other players around gathering the Rivercress plants.
Once you gather the water, petalcaps, and rivercress stem, you will need to locate an Arcane Repository and craft a Corruption Tincture. It will appear as a Common Corruption Tincture when you go to craft it. Return to Adiana Theron with the tincture to complete the Weakness of the Ego quest.
