Starmetal is a tier four ore that is used to make numerous items. You can smelt it into Starmetal ingots and create tools, weapons, and cartridges. However, it is much more difficult to obtain than most ores. By the end of this guide, you will learn where to find Starmetal in New World.
Where to Find Starmetal in New World
Starmetal is most abundant in Great Cleave, Mourningdale, and north of Restless Shore. In particular, Great Cleave has specific areas that contain only Starmetal ore deposits. These areas also contain high-level monsters ranging from Level 40-60 depending on where you travel. There may also be other players located in these areas since there are numerous deposits in these three regions. However, Starmetal ore deposits do respawn over time, so you can occasionally check back and see if there are any spots available. Alternatively, you also can explore areas such as eastern Brightwood, southwest of Weaver’s Fen, and northeast of Windsward.
To mine Starmetal, you need Level 100 in Mining. You will need to farm mining levels extensively before you can start gathering Starmetal. To speed up this process, upgrading to iron and steel pickaxes as early as possible will help you mine ores faster. You can either craft them yourself or buy them from the trading post. Here are some other ores and their levels to help you farm to level 100:
- Iron Ore: Requires Level 0 Mining
- Saltpeter: Requires Level 0 Mining
- Silver: Requires Level 10 Mining
- Oil: Requires Level 20 Mining
- Gold: Requires Level 45 Mining
- Alchemy Stones: Requires Level 50 Mining
While you will need to level up your Mining to 100, it is also advised that you level up your combat skills. Particularly, the corrupted monsters in Great Cleave can cause a lot of problems if you are under-leveled or not prepared to face them. Areas such as Windsward and Weaver’s Fen are safer when it comes to PvE, but you will not find as many Starmetal ore deposits in these regions.
