As reported by Deadline, Nicole Kidman will produce and star in the Amazon Studios thriller feature Holland, Michigan. The film will be directed by Mimi Cave (Fresh).
The film explores a small Midwestern town’s secrets. Its take on the thriller genre is described to be Hitchcock-like. It is written by Andrew Sodroski (Manhunt).
Producing the Amazon film with Nicole Kidman will be Per Saari and Peter Dealbert. Kate Churchill will executive produce.
Cave is coming off her hit directorial debut with the horror film Fresh for Searchlight Pictures, shown on Hulu. It starred Sebastian Stan, Daisy Edgar-Jones (Under the Banner of Heaven), Andrea Bang (Kim’s Convenience), and Jojo T. Gibbs (Twenties). This new high-profile project will undoubtedly keep her momentum moving.
Nicole Kidman and Amazon Studios Partnership
Holland, Michigan, is not the first time Nicole Kidman partnered with Amazon Studios. She starred as I Love Lucy‘s Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin’s Being the Ricardos with Javier Bardem and J.K. Simmons. Kidman was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards and a SAG award. She won a Golden Globe for her performance. For the studio, she will also star and produce the series Expats with Sarayu Blue (Blockers), Jack Huston (Fargo), and Brian Tee (Jurassic World).
Earlier this year, the actress starred in The Northman with Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd, Ethan Hawke, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Next year, she will reprise her Atlanna in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom role with Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, and Patrick Wilson. Further out, she will star in an untitled Netflix comedy with Zac Efron. She was also in the Apple TV anthology Roar with Betty Gilpin (Glow), Cynthia Erivo (The Outsider), Alison Brie (Glow), and Issa Rae (Insecure). In recent years, she was in Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, Bombshell, and HBO’s The Undoing and Big Little Lies.
