Nicole Layog says she didn’t bully Taylor Hale on this season of Big Brother. What makes this accusation stand out is that upon watching this season of Big Brother, it became clear that everyone in the house seemed to be targeting Hale. This also set up some discussions about race on social media, as some feel Hale was treated like she was because she is black. It’s a very tough subject to breach, but we need to have these discussions as a society, even if they do make us squirm.
On the plus side, Nicole has come out and apologized about how she treated Hale. While that in itself is an admission of guilt, at least she is owning up to admit and trying to better herself as a result.
Did Nicole Layog Bully Taylor Hale on Big Brother?
“Nicole was apologetic for the mean things she had said about Taylor, such as calling her a ‘bad person’Â and a ‘bully.’ Nicole even admitted that she did, in fact, ‘mess up’ and that many of the comments she had made were ‘inappropriate.’ According to Nicole, she had apologized to Taylor while still in the house; however, she also told Julie that she was ‘not the one bullying Taylor.’ Nicole actually praised The Leftovers alliance members for forming based on a ‘great cause.'”
Although Nicole was hit hard with reality upon leaving the Big Brother house, she was not by any means a sore loser. She openly admitted where things went wrong and what she did wrong while also being apologetic for her actions.
While bullying on Brother Bully is nothing new, when race is a factor, that’s not okay. Thankfully, this Nicole Layog and Taylor Hale drama seems like it was squashed as soon as it began. But it also opened the door for some discussions about race, which in the end, is a good thing.
Although we wish we were past this as a society, Big Brother is just a microcosm of the world. It shows us ourselves, even if it is sometimes cast in a light we do not agree with.
