Lunchables is teaming up with Nintendo just in time for back-to-school season. The unique packaging will have some of Big N’s most famous characters.
Nintendo-powered Lunchables packages will feature characters from the Switch’s most popular games. Super Mario Maker 2, Yoshi’s Crafted World, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will are all donning packaging.
Nintendo-themed Lunchables will include a My Nintendo Code. My Nintendo members can redeem platinum points for exclusive digital placement activity sheets, name tags, or other fun Nintendo-themed rewards.
A grand prize will be given away every day during the promotion. Lucky winners will receive a Nintendo Switch system and a digital collection of 12 Switch games. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are just two of the high-profile games in the collection.
The partnership seems like a no-brainer as the two brands are highly recognizable amongst school-aged kids. Both brands are deeply entrenched in American culture.
“We are always looking for ways to put smiles on the faces of fans of all ages,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Kids and parents already have an affinity for both Nintendo characters and Lunchables, so it was natural for us to renew our partnership.”
The Nintendo Switch has been a monster success since its release. Switch Lite and some heavy-hitting games are also on the horizon. Nintendo is about to have a big quarter on its hands. The Nintendo/Lunchables partnership is just the beginning for the house that Mario built. Don’t be surprised if we see Mario, Link, and the rest of the gang popping up in even more places.
The Nintendo-powered Lunchables will go on sale nationwide starting September 1st and run through November 30th.
