Nintendo’s new Switch Online service launches on Tuesday. Subscribers will gain access to twenty NES Classics. Today Nintendo announced the full line-up of games in addition to nine more scheduled for October – December. Joining the previously announced titles are:
- Excitebike
- Ghosts ‘n Goblins
- Tecmo Bowl
- Yoshi
- Double Dragon
- Ice Hockey
- Gradius
- River City Ransom
- Baseball
- Pro Wrestling
In addition to Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, Tennis, Mario Bros, Soccer, Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3. NES Classic games are available as long as you maintain your Nintendo Switch Online subscription.Â
Additionally, during October you can expect Super Dodge Ball, NES Open Tournament Golf and Solomon’s Key to arrive. TwinBee, Mighty Bomb Jack and Metroid will arrive in November. Finally, Ninja Gaiden, Wario’s Woods and Adventures of Lolo are set to arrive in December.
Nintendo Online NES Classics feature online multiplayer, co-operative and competitive based. The addition of these titles hopefully helps to take the sting out of monthly subscription costs. More importantly, the absence of Virtual Console on the Switch has been a hot topic. Hopefully, these 20 titles are indication Nintendo has not forgotten about backward compatibility, therefore giving fans a taste of what could be.
Alongside the Nintendo Switch Online service, Switch owners will have access to a Mobile App. Used in conjunction with the service the App is designed to make gaming online fun. Nintendo will also be releasing Wireless NES Controllers for use with the Classics collection. You can read more about these here. Nintendo Switch Online will release Tuesday. Subscriptions include a year’s plan for $19.99 and a $34.99 family plan.
