It’s hard to forget the epic failure of a launch that was No Man’s Sky back in 2016. Broken promises from developers, annoying glitches and an immense lack of content to play through plagued the game at its release. The situation deteriorated so much that it got to the point where gamers began demanding refunds for their purchases. Since that time though, Hello Games have completely turned things around. They’ve added countless updates, both large and small, that fixed most of their glitches and added massive amounts of content for gamers to explore. Their largest update, titled Atlas Rises, was released back in August 2017 and featured the addition of a basic multiplayer as well as 30+ hours of story.
Even with these updates, it seems that No Man’s Sky is still not done adding to the game. 505 Games have just announced via Twitter that they would be distributing an Xbox One edition of No Man’s Sky that would be releasing this Summer. Along with this stunning news, Hello Games founder Sean Murray announced that there would be yet another massive update called NEXT that would also be releasing this Summer. All of these updates and announcements have done wonders for the status of No Man’s Sky as a whole coming into its second year after launch. Having a new console for players to play on should dramatically increase the player base as well. What remains to be seen however is if gamers are willing to return No Man’s Sky and give it a second chance?
What do you think about this announcement? Do you still play No Man’s Sky and if not would you come back after hearing about all of these updates?
