Whether you’re looking for something terrifying or the newest game in your favorite franchise, October has some top picks! As we start to shift toward the Holiday season, there are some exciting 2021 video game releases on the horizon. That being said, here are a handful of October video game releases to keep an eye on!
October 1: FIFA 22
At this point does FIFA need any introduction? The newest game in the franchise is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC.
October 5: Alan Wake Remastered
To the absolute delight of horror fans, the cult-classic Alan Wake has a remastered version releasing just in time for Halloween. It will release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox (but a future Switch release may or may not be in the works!).
October 5: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
Ready to go bananas this October?! The next Super Monkey Ball game will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One.
October 7: Far Cry 6
In the newest Far Cry game, “dive into the gritty world of a modern-day guerrilla revolution to liberate a nation from its oppressive dictator.” This first-person shooter will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
October 8: Metroid Dread
Coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch after almost 15 years of waiting, Metroid Dread is full of new enemies and abilities. Check out the extensive coverage here!
October 12: Back 4 Blood
Speaking of waiting, Back 4 Blood, easily one of the most-anticipated games of 2021 and the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This co-op survival horror game will be available through Game Pass upon release.
October 21: Resident Evil 4 VR
If you wanted to see another Resident Evil game in VR, here is your chance! One of the most beloved games in the franchise is coming exclusively to Oculus. Resident Evil 4 VR has had a total rework to make the game completely interactive for VR audiences.
October 26: Guardians of the Galaxy
Even though it was just recently announced, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to release in October for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With Square Enix at the helm, it will be interesting to see if the Guardians fare better than the Avengers.
October 29: Mario Party Superstars
