Square Enix has revealed new character trailers for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, introducing more content to the mobile game. So far these two new trailers include information on the characters, Largo and Joshua. This includes some information on playstyle, story, and character design.
What Is Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent?
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is the mobile version of the hit RPG Octopath Traveler. In this game, players will control a party of adventurers and participate in traditional turn-based JRPG combat. Unlike the original however, players can have parties of up to eight characters rather than four. The mobile Square Enix game also functions as a prequel to the series, showing off a time before the original Octopath Traveler game takes place.
Square Enix Reveals Two New Characters
The first new character revealed for the Octopath Traveler prequel is Joshua aka Frostblade, a handsome and heroic swordsman who treasures his younger sister above all else. His Influence is Fame, and he is a member of the Warrior class. On top of this, his reveal states he is from the Cathedral of Tytos. Although not much is revealed besides this, he is shown using sword based attacks to dish out massive damage throughout Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent as well.
Largo, on the other hand, is a a young inventor, who enters himself into tournaments to advertise his inventions. In Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, he is in the Merchant class and has the Influence of Fame as well. Additionally, he is from Atlasdam in the story. For gameplay, Largo will be able to wield a spear, as well as deal electric damage with a crossbow, and summon a large brute to deal fire damage.
Octopath Traveler: CotC is out for free now through the Google Play Store or App Store. It is available on both iOS and Android. The game includes some micro transactions but can be played for free.
