Four months after the digital debut, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee for Nintendo Switch is now available at retail. It comes in both standard and limited editions that contains “oddities” that Oddworld fans will love. It comes with a unique lenticular for the packaging, a Munch’s footprint keychain, stickers, and the Nintendo Switch remaster copy.
With this release, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee joins Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath as two of the three classic Oddworld games that are available both digitally in Nintendo eShop and physically in retail stores. Meanwhile, the third title, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty‘s Switch version standard and limited editions are currently available for pre-order. If you prefer to get it via Nintendo eShop, don’t worry. Microid is planning to open the digital pre-order nearing its October release date as well.
In Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, the story begins when a Gabbit named Munch, the hero of the Oddest Oddysee of all, trapped as a Big Phrama test subject. Abducted by soulless scientist, legs broken from getting trapped, and had an alien device implanted in his skull, Munch is in bad shape. His fellow Gabbits have been hunted to extinction. Not to mention the last of their eggs in Gabbiar cans will be auctioned off soon and most likely quickly devoured. He may be the last of his kind.
Thus it is up to Munch to escape and rescue some Fuzzles along the way who are also locked up in the horrible animal testing facility known as Vykkers Labs as well. And if Munch can successfully escape from Vykkers Labs, maybe he can team him up with Abe the Mudokon, and maybe will be guided by the wisdom of the Almighty Raisin.
Munch’s Oddysee limited edition pack is definitely one bundle Oddworld fans (who owns the Nintendo Switch) can’t miss out on. Interested? Share with us what you think of the limited edition bonuses in the comments.
