Ubisoft has shown the first glimpse into Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s post-launch content, since the announcement that there will be no new Assassin’s Creed in 2019.
For players who purchase the Season Pass, Gold, or special editions of Odyssey will be able to play through two major stories: Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis. According to Ubisoft, “Legacy of the First Blade, introduces players to the first person to ever use the Hidden Blade, forever altering history.” While The Fate of Atlantis will set you on a path to uncover the mysteries behind the underwater city while fighting against mythic creatures. Both story arcs will launch as episodic adventures, with new episodes releasing every six weeks.
For those looking for a change of scenery, the polarizing Assassin’s Creed III set in the American Revolution will be included in the $40 season pass. Including all of the DLC for the original game, it will also include PlayStation Vita’s Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered. Ubisoft has announced that there will be improved “gameplay mechanics” but what exactly that will mean is still unknown. The remaster will also be available standalone for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and will be released in March 2019.
For those who are not sold on purchasing a special edition or season pass, there is also free content that will be included in their post-launch plans. According to Ubisoft, it’ll include:
The Lost Tales of Greece are free episodic stories that will release regularly between the larger post-launch episodes, providing a continual stream of new content to all players, with quests that feature new and familiar characters.
Additionally, recurring in-game events will also be free for all players, and introduce new epic ships, mercenaries, and mythical creatures for players to take down each week.
Lastly, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will receive a New Game Plus mode, which will bring new challenges and allow you to see how different choices affect your odyssey.
