SCS Software, the maker of the American Truck Simulator, actively develops expansions for their truck simulator. It’s not only for ATS; they also do the same for Euro Truck Simulator and those expansions keeping the game alive. We’ve seen many DLC expansions for both games, which qualified as the game’s main content. SCS doesn’t need to make a new truck simulator, and their strategy enriches the current games. The studio announced the next game expansion for American Truck Simulator; it’s Oklahoma. Here are the details about that upcoming DLC.
DLCs aren’t only for the ones who want to explore new areas. SCS also intends to target the fanbase in that location and allow them to drive their truck on a familiar road. This is a fascinating localization method rare in the industry.
Oklahoma Game DLC is Coming To American Truck Simulator
This is the 12th expansion for the game, though its release date isn’t revealed. The developers only say that it’s “coming soon.” Here’s an important part from the team’s blog post:
“While Oklahoma tends to have an unfortunate reputation of being a rather arid place,” SCS says in its announcement post, “sometimes it’s much better to avoid judging a book by its cover. The state is home to wonderful national parks, several natural marvels, and historical places full of mysteries and legends. And if you are looking for something more practical instead, the local road network and a strong economy will keep every trucker properly busy.”
American Truck Simulator and its DLCs are on the Steam Autumn Sale right now. You might want to kill the roads before diving into the new content. California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas are the current expansions of the game, which means you should pay extra to play.
