There’s no denying the entertainment industry’s fascination with the subject of cloning. The concept has worked its way into pop culture, from movies to video games. In fact, cloning is the focus of an upcoming puzzle platformer game. Indie developer Chestnut Games has based their debut title around the topic, where the player must help a clone escape from an evil facility. One Many Nobody will debut with a demo at next month’s Steam Next Fest.
Only TEN days to the Steam Next Fest! 🎉

According to today’s press release, the game takes place in a facility where thousands of clones are trapped. The clones, who are all copies of one man, are forced into slave labor to solve an energy crisis. Now, there’s an opportunity for one of them to break free, but only with the help of the others.
“Beginning their journey as one of thousands of clones in captivity, players must use the technology in the facility around them to make more copies of themselves in order to navigate each level and continue their escape. The clone that escapes might not even be the one the player started with, that clone may in turn have to sacrifice itself to grant another one an opportunity to escape!”
What will the Steam Next Fest demo of One Many Nobody include?
Today’s press release compared the game’s setting and sci-fi elements to Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Portal, respectively. In the demo, players will have access to some of the game’s opening levels.
“In the Steam Next Fest demo, players will get a taste of the desperate world that Chestnut Games has created, exploring the depths of the factory, dodging traps and guards along the way. In a world where you can only trust yourself (and yourself), cloning devices are invaluable, and players can use them to create and control multiple versions of themselves to stand on switches, give themselves a boost, or even sacrifice themselves, all to clear a path to freedom. When one of us succeeds, we all succeed.”
The One Many Nobody demo will be available during Steam Next Fest, which runs from October 3-10.
