The One Piece Celebration Continues Along with One Piece: Red
To celebrate the franchises’ 1000th episode, One Piece also released a 17-minute clip that had one second of every episode. The new episode also featured a new, remastered opening with the series’s first song, “We Are”.
With a huge milestone coming One Piece’s way, it’s only natural to announce something as big as another film. While there are still many details about the upcoming project that are still a mystery, Toei Animation has debuted the first poster. The poster has led fans to a number of speculations. One of these is the return of the Red-Haired Shanks. However, unlike other theories, this is supported by the title and the poster, which features Shanks’s three scars. Emperor being in the film and having a large part is another theory. This is alluded to in the newly released teaser for the film too.

Considering the future of Wano and itself still in question, Red-Haired Shanks playing any role in the series would most definitely be a treat for both old and new fans of the series. At the same time, it’s also unknown if the film will take place during the official series’ canon. However, this does tie into Oda’s previous tease about Shanks making his next move in the next years and beyond.
One Piece Red will be released on August 6 in Japan. As of now, there is no international release date for the film.
