Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, and Craig T. Nelson are returning for Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter. The first American romantic comedy film centered around four senior friends that have a sexual awakening after reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter has already started production in Italy. New cast members include Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Giannini, Breeders actor Hugh Quarshie, and House of Gucci actor Vincent Riotta. Paramount Pictures released the first film in 2018 with a $14 million budget, which grossed $104 million worldwide. Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen play the four friends in the sequel, taking their book club to Italy. Bill Holderman is directing the sequel to the American romantic comedy film and writing the script with Erin Simms.
Fonda, Bergen, Keaton, and Steenburgen Are Returning for More Book Club Shenanigans
These Hollywood legends have at least one Academy Award nomination each and several accolades. Their careers span several decades and have encompassed many iconic roles. Jane Fonda plays Vivian, Candice Bergen plays Sharon, Diane Keaton plays Diane, and Mary Steenburgen plays Mary Steenburgen. Now Fonda, Bergen, Keaton, and Steenburgen join forces again for Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter. The 2018 film showed how reading Fifty Shades of Grey affected them differently. The sequel’s plot includes more revelations and a lot of adventure for the women. News of the making of Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter comes shortly after the popular Netflix series Grace & Frankie, which starred Jane Fonda. Steenburgen most recently starred in the film Nightmare Alley. Bergen was in the 2022 film As They Made Us. The film Mack & Rita is in post-production and will star Diane Keaton.
There is no set release date for the sequel, but audiences will eventually get a taste of the sequel with a trailer soon.
