The Switch Lite isn’t the only Nintendo product hitting shelves this Fall, the original Switch gets a revised model to keep fans gaming for longer.
Nintendo will be releasing a Switch with increased battery life this coming August in Japan. This new Switch news comes off of their official Japan site. This model is going to be identical to the current version, carrying the same specs outside the battery.
The new version of the Switch is reported to last four and a half to nine hours on a single charge. The old model can go for two and a half to six hours and change depending on the same. Players wishing to last a little longer in bed while “Smashing” don’t have to worry as this new Switch costs the same price.
Breath of the Wild reportedly lasts about five and a half hours on the new Switch compared to the old model where it’s only three.
Nintendo: Sleight of Hand
Nintendo filed a notice last week with the Federal Communications Commission regarding a change to the system-on-a-chip processor, CPU, and storage on the console. While Nintendo had the internet rumbling over the Switch Lite in their left hand, Nintendo casually filled the paperwork for the New Switch with their right.
Per Nintendo, the new Switch model number is HAC-001(-01) and should be available this mid-August in the U.S. There’s no word yet on any bundles or colors this new Switch might come with but we’ll keep you posted if anything breaks.
