It’s almost a tradition at this point that Overcooked 2 gets a free update each season, bringing in new content for players to enjoy. We saw it during the winter with the Winter Wonderland update and several other places. These are of course joined by regular DLC, but having that extra free content is always welcome. Today, the teams at Team17 and Ghost Town Games are happy to announce that their latest free update is available now. It’s known as Sun’s Out, Buns Out, and is available for PC with console versions coming later this month. The update is joined by a trailer released today, showing off everything you can expect to find while serving dishes up.
Sun’s Out, Buns Out takes Overcooked 2 in a more festive, summer styled direction. There are five new levels to play, each with their mechanics centered around the summer theme. One, for example, features parade floats coming through the kitchen’s center. You’ll have to time your crossovers well if you are to make the desired dishes. Speaking of dishes, there are two special dishes available here. You have the ice cream float to cool you off after a hectic session, and summer salad for those looking for something more vegetarian based. It wouldn’t be an update though without some new chefs to play as. The two new chefs are some adorable canines, both ready to make the dishes of your dreams.
This update is really exciting, and we hope you have a great time jumping in and trying it. If you’re wondering how to find the content, you can start it through the Extras screen of the Overcooked 2 main menu. From there, select Seasonal Updates and it will take you to the seasonal map. As long as your game is updated, it’ll be ready for you and your friends to enjoy.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on Team17’s Overcooked 2 update. Are you excited to try some of the new levels? Does either of the new dishes sound interesting to make? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
