Overwatch 2 has announced a new Mythic skin, Amaterasu, for Kiriko as part of the upcoming Season 3 Premium Battle Pass. The season begins on February 7, featuring one new map and Battle Pass, hero balance changes, and the return of Credits. The developer also recently released a blog post detailing changes to the game’s matchmaking rating and ranking system.
As a support character, Kiriko has been dominating Overwatch 2 since her release and is currently the third most-selected hero. Known for her fast movement speed, healing abilities, and deadly kunai knives, players have discovered devastating combos when combining Kiriko’s abilities with other heroes like Roadhog.

Amaterasu is inspired by the Japanese sun goddess and will be the first Mythic skin for Kiriko in Overwatch 2. Earlier, Genji received a Mythic skin in Season 1 and Junker Queen’s Season 2 Mythic skin was inspired by the Greek God Zeus. The developers still need to confirm how to unlock the Mythic skin, but based on Season 2, it is expected to be at Tier 80 in the Battle Pass.
Kiriko is known for her agility and ability to climb walls. She can heal her teammates using talismans and teleport to them, as well as throw deadly kunai knives. Her Ultimate ability increases allies’ movement and shooting speed and reduces their cooldowns.
