The 2020 Overwatch Anniversary event is now live, with new skins and emotes coming to the game alongside the return of popular game modes. The update also brings along a patch that includes changes to the communication wheel we’ve highlighted before.
The event runs through June 9. The Arcade will feature the return of special game modes throughout the event, starting with Lucioball, the Rocket League-esque soccer mode. Each game mode will only last for 24 hours before it’s replaced with another. Check out the Overwatch Anniversary website to see when your favorite mode is taking place.
Epic Overwatch Anniversary Event Skins
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Anniversary event without new skins being introduced to the game. Three epic skins can be unlocked by competing a series of weekly challenges throughout the event. Win nine games a week to complete the challenge, and be rewarded with the Carbon Fiber skin for Sigma (pictured above) in week one.
The Fleur de Lis skin for Widowmaker can be earned during week two of the event.
The Masked Man skin for McCree can be earned during week three. On your way toward earning those three epic skins, you’ll also net yourself a spray and an icon each week.
Challenges aren’t the only way to get your hands on new skins during the Overwatch Anniversary event. There are five other new skins available to earn through Anniversary Loot Boxes or purchasable using credits. Skins from previous Overwatch Anniversary events are also able to be found in Loot Boxes, except for rewards from previous challenges. Everybody who logs on during the event gets a Legendary Anniversary Loot Box that rewards at least one legendary item.
Other new skins include Dragoon for Mercy
Huitzilopochtli for Zenyatta
Little Red for Ashe
Masquerade for Reaper
Submarine for Wrecking Ball
Also available during the Overwatch Anniversary event are three new emotes for Roadhog, Sigma, and Echo. Check out all of the new unlocks here.
