The team behind the wickedly successful Oxenfree, Night School Studios, has recently announced their newest project, and it is already a winner. Forget fiddle showdowns; have you ever wondered what it would be like to out drink Satan? Well, now you may find out in Afterparty, the newest project from the small studio.
Afterparty focuses on two life-long best friends: Milo and Lola. With college quickly coming to an end, the two must decide what they want to do with the rest of their lives. However, they never make it that far. After the two die together unexpectedly, they find themselves in Hell. While the two BFF’s have no idea how they got there, they definitely don’t want to stay. In the most important bar crawl of their lives, Milo and Lola must drink their way through Hell to eventually challenge the Prince of Darkness himself to a drinking contest. If you can manage to beat him, he just might let you go.

IGN got the chance to look at Afterparty more thoroughly, and the new title sounds pretty impressive. Different parts of Hell are styled after various different religions and denominations with the River Styx acting as a sort of taxi service throughout. Much like its predecessor, Oxenfree, every tiny choice matters in the grand scheme of the game. Even the drink you choose and when you choose to drink it during the game can affect your ending dramatically. So, choose carefully!
Afterparty isn’t set to release until 2019; so you have plenty of time to work on your drinking strategies! It has yet to be announced what the game will be available on console wise, but Oxenfree was available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and, just recently, the Nintendo Switch.
