The woman, who was also recording the encounter, tried to defend herself and push back against their taunts. Things turned even more uncomfortable when one of the men got too close, prompting her to tell him not to touch her. Instead of backing off, he mocked her and kept taunting, seemingly enjoying the attention.
The situation grew more chaotic as multiple Oxnard men surrounded the woman, shouting over her while she tried to speak. It was one against several, and the imbalance was obvious. The men seemed to think that harassing her was perfectly fine as long as they labeled her a “communist.” As if that weren’t enough, another man soon joined in, escalating things further.
At one point, the topic shifted toward Palestine. The woman appeared to express support for Palestinians, which immediately set the MAGA supporters off again. They accused her of being a communist simply for voicing sympathy for another group of people. The Oxnard farmers market, which is supposed to be a peaceful community space, turned into a shouting match filled with hostility.
Despite being outnumbered, the woman stood her ground. She explained that she wasn’t promoting communism, only criticizing capitalism and its many flaws that hurt ordinary people. The MAGA supporters, however, refused to listen. They clung to the idea that capitalism was perfect and beyond reproach. The argument eventually escalated into some light physical scuffling, though fortunately no one was seriously hurt. The man who had initially confronted her apparently lost his shirt in the chaos, making the scene even more bizarre.
