It’s a great day to be a Paramount Plus subscriber. In a lengthy Twitter thread that consisted of over two dozen tweets, Paramount Plus announced an exciting lineup of upcoming movies and tv shows. The announcement followed the news of the quarterly sales and subscribers overview for their parent company Viacom, which is being renamed Paramount effective immediately. In this quarter alone, Viacom confirmed that the Paramount brand welcomed over 50 million subscribers, most of which subscribed to Paramount Plus. According to Variety, Paramount Plus has reached 32.8 million subscribers since its launch in March 2021.
With its recent success, it’s clear that Paramount is investing in in-house projects, which is confirmed by today’s announcement of the onslaught of upcoming Paramount original films and tv shows. The list of upcoming new releases included a wide array of titles like 5 shows written by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, all new villain-inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle films (including the upcoming Seth Rogen TMNT project), and Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
