To many people, Persona 5 is the greatest JRPG ever made. Personally, I wouldn’t go that far, but I love it, and it’s a strong contender. Everyone who has played it though has one thing in common. As soon as the credits roll, they all want to jump straight back into the world of the Phantom Thieves. Shortly, these dreams will come true when Persona 5 Strikers is released on February 23.
In the build-up to that launch, Atlus has today dropped a new all-action trailer to give fans a bit more of an idea of what to expect from Persona 5 Strikers when it releases next month. Filled with all the style you’d expect from a Persona title, you can take a look at the trailer below, and see what you think.
Continuing the story from Persona 5, Strikers will see the Phantom Thieves journey to 6 different cities in Japan as they attempt to strike back at the corruption that is overwhelming the country. This time around, the RPG mechanics are replaced with a hybrid system that fuses action combat with a pause and plan section where strategy can be determined. I can’t wait to see how it works first hand.
Added to this is the usual time-wasting (but fun) activities that we expect from Persona as players can help people in need, fight monsters, and even cook with each Phantom Thief being fully playable.
Persona 5 Strikers will launch on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam with pre-orders available now at a price of $59.99. Should you choose to order the digital deluxe edition it will set you back $69.99, but will also unlock the game 4 days early on February 19. The deluxe edition also includes a host of other extras including a skills book pack, digital artbook, behind-the-scenes videos, and a soundtrack featuring music from past Persona games.
Hopefully, we can bring you a hands-on soon, but in the meantime, let us know if the trailer gets you excited about Persona 5 Strikers in the comments below.
