Stephen King fans around the world have been anxiously awaiting the next adaptation of one of his novels into a film ever since the smash success of 2017’s It, and the excitement for the upcoming Pet Sematary has been high. Unfortunately, the film’s brand new trailer shows what could be considered a big spoiler that preferably could have been saved for when moviegoers actually viewed the film. Otherwise, we get to see some delightfully creepy clips in the new footage. Spoilers ahead for Pet Sematary, continue at your own risk.Â
In the new trailer for King’s Pet Sematary, we see some familiar clips from the original teaser and some fresh new moments to whet our horror appetites. But about halfway through the footage, a big plot twist is spoiled. See for yourself in the trailer below:
Pet Sematary is directed by duo Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer with an adapted screenplay by Jeff Buhler. The film stars Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz as Louis and Rachel Creed, and John Lithgow as Jud Crandall. The new adaptation comes almost 30 years after the original Pet Sematary feature film.

Based on the novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
Pet Sematary releases in theaters on April 5th, 2019.
