Pete Davidson has ended a significant chapter of his life after stepping away from his role on Saturday Night Live and reflected on his time in an emotional message posted on social media hours before his final appearance. Pete Davidson has enjoyed many memorable moments on SNL, including sharing a kiss with his present girlfriend Kim Kardashian during a skit on her first appearance on the show in October 2021. However, all good things must come to an end, and Pete has decided to leave the comedy series that has shaped his life.
However, the 28-year-old did not leave without saying goodbye and posted an emotional letter on Instagram. Pete doesn’t have an Instagram account but did not let that deter him as he made a post via his close friend Dave Sirus’s account. Accompanying the heartwarming message was a video showing a 20-year-old Pete hugging Jerrod Carmichael after marking his first SNL episode in 2014.
In the post’s caption, Pete wrote,
“This video was taken 8 years ago. Jerrod sent it to me last night, and it made me super emotional in the best way. In the video I had just gotten back from doing my very first update and sketch. It’s crazy to think that today I’ll be doing my last one. When I got the show I was 20 years old and I had no idea what I was doing. I still don’t but especially back then. I wasn’t really a sketch performer I was just a stand up.”

What’s next for Pete Davidson?
On his last SNL appearance, Pete appeared alongside Colin and Michael Che and cracked several jokes on the night. One of his jokes was about Lorne’s advice to him when he was getting engaged to his former fiancée Ariana Grande. Meanwhile, Pete was not the only cast member leaving the show on the night. Kate, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney also departed SNL in what was a major cast shakeup.
Although Pete Davidson is leaving SNL, he will always be fondly remembered by fans, cast, and crew and is forever a part of the Saturday Night Live family.
